Brazil’s accession to the Hague Agreement

31 dez 1969

On July 4th, the BPTO (Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office) published the resolution regarding Brazil’s accession to the Hague Agreement. The system, which will come into effect on August 1st, brings significant benefits. Brazilians who choose to register their industrial designs through the Agreement will be able to seek protection in multiple countries simultaneously, using a single international application, thus reducing bureaucracy and costs significantly. Furthermore, Brazil’s accession to the Hague Agreement also facilitates the process for foreigners who wish to protect their designs in Brazilian territory.
