31 dez 1969

Last Wednesday, July 19th, the Brazilian Federal Register published the appointment of Dr. Julio Cesar Moreira as President of INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property), consolidating his position at the helm of the institution, as he had been acting as interim since January of this year.

This formalization is very positive for the Brazilian Intellectual Property scenario, given that Dr. Júlio Cesar Moreira has an extensive track record, working at INPI since 1998 and having served as one of the Patent Directors of the organization. Since the beginning of the year, he has demonstrated skill and dedication, contributing to implementations that are promoting a smooth handling of the country’s patent applications.

Furthermore, the Brazilian Federal Register also appointed positions in the Board, confirming Dr. Schmuell Cantanhêde, as Director of Trademarks, Industrial Designs, and Geographical Indications, and Dr. Alexandre Dantas Rodrigues, as Director of Patents, Computer Programs, and Integrated Circuit Topographies.

We wish success to the new President and his Board. We believe that their efforts will contribute to innovative and technological development in Brazil.
