Brazilian National Day Against Piracy and Biopiracy
On December 3rd, we celebrate the National Day Against Piracy and Biopiracy, an initiative that began in 2005 with the purpose of promoting enforcement actions against these illegal practices. More than that, the date aims to raise awareness about the importance of not supporting the consumption of counterfeit products and to condemn the trafficking of animals and the exploitation of biological resources.
These activities not only harm scientific and technological development but also have serious impacts on the economy and biodiversity, posing significant risks to health, safety, and the environment.
On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting intellectual property, which drives societal progress through research, innovation, and creativity, being vital for a more sustainable and just future.
