Industrial Designs

According to the Intellectual Property Law, “industrial design is the ornamental plastic form of an object or the ornamental set of lines and colors that can be applied to a product, providing new and original visual results in its external configuration and that can serve as a type of industrial manufacture”.

The requirements for the registration of industrial design are very similar to those for patents, namely: novelty, originality and industrial application. As with patents, industrial design must also have industrial applicability. In other words, it must be susceptible to industrial production.
